IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: PROGRAM CHANGE

I am writing to tell you about a major change in the program for the upcoming November
Boston Philharmonic concerts. I was looking forward, as I am sure were you, to Bartók’s
Second Piano Concerto with Martina Filjak, but then I heard Martina play Brahms’s
First Piano Concerto. I was so struck by the depth and intensity of her performance
that I decided that I wanted this extraordinary musician to make her Boston orchestral
debut playing a work from her core repertoire, one that calls on the full range
of her artistry. Martina is thrilled to be coming to Boston to perform the Brahms,
which she is currently playing on tour in Europe, and I am looking forward immensely
to collaborating on this titanic work with one of the most exciting pianists I have
heard in the past decade.

So, the Boston Philharmonic will be performing its first ever All-Brahms concerts
on November 17th, 19th, and 20th:

Brahms First Piano Concerto in D Minor

Brahms Fourth Symphony in E Minor

I heartily urge you to bring your friends. I think it will be a concert to remember.

Best wishes,

Ben Zander

and read some of the things critics have been saying about her.
