BECOME A FILMMAKER

OUTSET: THE YOUNG FILMMAKERS PROJECT
Application Deadline: October 16, 2015

OutSet was launched in 2011 to create a safe space for LGBTQ young people to tell their stories and acquire the skills to bring these stories to life in the form of a short film. Fifteen fellows are selected each fall to participate and make five short films. The fellows train as writers, producers, or directors in teams of three, and are paired with mentors who are professional filmmakers. The classes take place once a week and are taught by industry professionals.
Many of our alumni fellows have gone on to work in the entertainment industry or apply for film school based on their experience in OutSet.
