Saving planet earth, many trees at a time
CAMARINES SUR-In the US, the environment has a hero in former US Vice President
Al Gore, who has actively campaigned for awareness of theharmful effects of global
warming. In the Philippines, one man has managed to step up to the plate to be
an environmental hero. That man is Camarines Sur Governor LRay Villafuerte who
spearheads the “El Verde 12 Million Trees by 2012″ project which aims to lower
deforestation rate by engaging community members to do their part to save the environment.

The project was formally launched last February 22 in Sto. Nino, Pili, CamSur.
The affair was attended by the governor, as well as Department of Natural Resources
Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje, United Nations Environment Program Country Director
Renaud Meyer, Gawad Kalinga founder Tony Meloto and no less than the president
himself Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

Hetty Chang’s Asian ways
Before being one of the most visible TV news reporters in Las Vegas, Hetty Chang
has been “telling the news” to viewers in Reno and various parts of California.

And in all the job markets that she has been to, she lugs around her trusty rice
cooker to make sure the aroma and taste of steamed rice comforts her at the end
of a hectic day.

While inherently proud and fond of her Asian roots, Hetty refuses to be identified
as a mere token in media. “I guess that’s one challenge, showing the public I am
unique, and not just a token Asian reporter,” she told Asian Journal.

“Debunking that stereotype involves developing your own style when it comes to delivery,
writing, even appearance,” she added.

LV Bboy’s LA homecoming
Las Vegas local Bailey Munoz went back to his roots when he visited Los Angeles
to perform at the recent NBA All Star Weekend.

Fil-Am Bailey -known on stage as B-boy BailRok, performed as the other half of
the Future Funk duo, in an enthusiastic sold out crowd.

Wenn Daramas, Anne Curtis, and Luis Manzano

Anne and Luis spark chemistry once again in ‘Who’s That Girl?’
From being the hunched-back in Kampanerang Kuba, then evolving into a striking
goddess in Dyosa, to becoming a sassy host at Showtime, Anne Curtis is all set
to hit the big screen again via Who’s That Girl? a romantic-comedy film who also
stars one of Anne’s most treasured persons both on and off screen-Luis Manzano.

Directed by the critically acclaimed ,Wenn Deramas, Who’s That Girl? depicts a romantic-comedy
with a very interesting twist.
